This letter was sent to my father by his older sister, Viera, who had remained in a labour camp in Kazakstan to take care of my grandfather. It was written on January 24, 1944 and took nine months to reach my father.
There are eight different post marks on the envelope, the final one, stamped 28th of October, 1944. The letter was inspected by both Soviet and British censors as evidenced by the examination strips. The Soviet censor cut out information regarding Viera's employment duties and location of her work camp.
The following are various documents, identification papers and licenses.
